Animal transport in Europe

Move-your-animal is a marketplace for animal transport in Europe. Whether it's a warmblood from Munich to Milan, a dog from Berlin to Lisbon, a cat from Vienna to Zurich, or a small animal move within Germany: You describe your transport, and verified transport companies send you offers. The transport itself is always carried out by the transport company.

Every transporter is reviewed before activation: EU transporter authorization under Regulation (EC) 1/2005, certificate of competence, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Before booking, you can view their profile, reviews from other customers, and the price in the offer.

TRACES and Documents

Many cross-border animal transports within the EU require a notification in the EU TRACES system. Many transport companies handle this. In your request, check the box to indicate that you want this, and the quote will show whether the transport company offers it and at what price. You upload documents such as the equine passport or EU pet passport once to the animal's profile and authorize their use for the trip. Check with your veterinarian or the relevant veterinary authority to find out which certificates you need for your destination country.

Transport by air

You can also submit a request for air transport. The offers you receive will show whether a transporter on the platform can handle the route.

Insurance

The transporter is covered by their own insurance. However, this liability is limited for live animals, especially on trips abroad, and it often does not provide sufficient coverage for a valuable sport or breeding horse. You cannot purchase transport insurance through the platform. However, you can select that you would like a quote when submitting your request, and we will contact you by email.

From booking to arrival

When booking, you pay 10 % of the price online as a reservation fee. The transporter receives the rest in cash at handover or by bank transfer. During the trip, you can see the location via live tracking and contact the transporter in the chat. If something goes wrong, report it directly for the trip in your account.

Our main focus is the German-speaking region. Whether a route is possible depends on whether a transport company operates it — simply submit a request to see who responds. We are expanding country by country with the companies that join us.

Until the transporter confirms, you can withdraw your request free of charge. After that, the space is reserved for you, and cancellation through the platform is not available. In exceptional cases, such as your animal becoming ill, contact support. If the transporter cancels, you will receive a refund of the reservation fee.
