No. With your first inquiry, we automatically create an account for you. You will receive the login link by email; you do not need a password. Money is only due once the transporter has confirmed your booking.
Personal is for individuals, such as horse owners or dog owners. For a business account, you also provide your company name and VAT ID; both will then appear on your invoices.
Yes, in the dashboard under Settings. When switching to Business, you add your company name and VAT ID number. Invoices that have already been issued remain unchanged.
Yes. Under "My Animals" you can add as many horses, dogs, cats, small animals, or exotic pets as you like. You upload documents once and share them for each booking.
Email info@move-your-animal.com and we'll delete your account. We are required to retain invoices and booking records for eight years under tax and commercial law.
It depends on whether a suitable carrier currently has capacity on your route. As soon as an offer comes in, you'll receive an email. We also see every new request.
Four steps: 1) Post a request with animal, route, and date. 2) Compare offers (price, reviews, transporter profile). 3) Choose an offer. As soon as the transporter confirms, you pay online to finalize the binding booking: the reservation fee and, depending on the chosen option, a 30% or 50% deposit. 4) Tracking and messages in the dashboard. Any remaining balance is paid in cash directly to the transporter upon arrival.
10% of the transport price, which you pay online to Move-your-animal upon booking, in addition to the transporter's price. It makes the booking binding and serves as our service fee. The total price is shown in every offer: transport price plus fee. The transporter receives the transport price in full, either in cash upon handover or partly as a deposit via us.
As long as the transporter hasn't confirmed yet, you can withdraw your request at any time for free. Afterwards, you can cancel it under the booking in your account: You will always get your deposit back. You will get the reservation fee back if you cancel at least 5 days before the date, giving the transporter time to find a replacement customer. If you cancel later, it is retained unless your animal had to be hospitalized due to serious illness or injury; in that case, simply upload proof and we will refund it. If the transporter cancels or fails to show up, you get everything back. The exact rules can be found in § 5 of the Terms and Conditions.
Shared transport is usually more affordable because the travel costs are split among several animals. It is suitable for healthy animals that are used to being transported. A private trip is better for young, sick, or inexperienced animals, as well as stallions and animals with special needs.
As soon as the transporter starts the trip, you can see the vehicle's location on the map. You can reach the transporter during the trip using the chat next to it.
The carrier is responsible for care during the journey. In an emergency, the carrier calls a veterinarian and informs you in the chat. You can report delays, damage, failure to appear, or disputes directly from the journey in your account. The report is sent to the carrier and to us.
It mainly depends on the route, type of animal, and effort involved. There is no fixed price because every trip is different. The transport company provides the binding price in its offer before you book anything.
Inquiries and comparisons are free of charge. Upon booking, you pay a 10% reservation fee on top of the transport price, online to us. The total price is shown in every offer. Depending on the chosen payment method, you pay the transport price in cash upon arrival or as a 30% or 50% deposit online with the remainder in cash. You can see the breakdown before booking.
Split in two: When booking, you pay Move-your-animal the reservation fee online via card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay and, if you choose, a deposit of 30 or 50% of the transport price. You pay the rest in cash upon handover. We forward the deposit immediately to the transporter; if the transport is canceled, you get it back.
Online, you pay by credit card (Visa/Mastercard), Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The payment is processed by Stripe; you do not need your own Stripe account for this. Any remaining balance after the online payment is paid in cash to the transporter upon arrival.
You receive two invoices, which you can access under payments in your dashboard: one from us for the reservation fee and one issued on behalf of the carrier for the transport portion. For a business account, they include the company name and VAT ID number.
There is no automatic discount. If several animals travel on the same route, the costs are shared. The carrier can take this into account in their offer.
Not directly through the portal. You can check the box in your request to indicate that you would like an offer, and we will contact you by email. The insurance is not part of the booking and is not paid for through the portal.
That depends on the value of your animal. The carrier is covered by its own insurance, but liability for live animals is limited, especially for international journeys. If you have a valuable animal, it may be worth getting a quote for separate transport insurance.
Directly from the trip in your account: “Report a problem” and then “Damage”. The form asks for everything an insurer needs, including the time, location, type of damage, animal affected, what happened, veterinarian and costs. You then attach photos, medical reports and invoices. You can save the report as a PDF and submit it to your insurer, and we will also receive it. Transporters can report damage in the same way.
Before a customer books and pays, every transporter verifies via Stripe, our payment service. Stripe checks identity and bank account. Commercial transporters provide their authorization number according to Regulation 1/2005 in their company profile, private ride-shares also verify with an ID and selfie. Only then can the transporter confirm a booking.
During transport, you can see the location via live tracking and contact the transport company in the chat. You can report delays, damage, no-shows, or disputes from the trip in your account. The report is sent to the transport company and us, and we review every case.
The transporter is generally liable through their insurance. However, liability for live animals is limited, for example in cases of stress, illness or an unclear cause. For such cases, you can request a quote for your own transport insurance when submitting your request.
Before you pay, every transporter is verified via Stripe, private providers additionally with an ID and selfie. If you pay in cash, you only pay the reservation fee online and the rest upon handover. A deposit of 30 or 50% goes to the transporter; if the transport is cancelled, they must return it, and we refund your deposit and fee. If the transporter cancels or doesn't show up, you get everything back.
Report it immediately in your account under the trip via "Report a problem" and "Did not show up". The report is sent to the transporter and to us. In this case, you will get your reservation fee and deposit back, and upon request we will provide you with the transporter's contract details for your claims.
TRACES (TRade Control and Expert System) is the EU system for official veterinary certificates for cross-border animal transport. Registration can only be completed by a registered transporter, veterinarian, or authority — private individuals cannot do so directly.

In the dashboard under “Routes”, you enter the route, date and available spots. Customers can book available spots, and you can find suitable open requests under “Requests & bids”.
You specify this under payment methods. With cash on arrival, you receive your entire price directly from the customer. With a 30% or 50% deposit, we forward the deposit to you via Stripe right after the customer pays, minus the share of the payment service fee; you collect the remainder in cash. If the transport is canceled, Stripe reclaims the deposit from your account. To do this, you verify your identity once with Stripe.
Our database is located in Frankfurt. We only share your personal data with the booked carrier to the extent needed for the journey. You can request information, a copy of your data, or deletion of your account by emailing info@move-your-animal.com.
